ONCE: Follow the Honey is Next Wednesday!

It is coming up soon! Our next O.N.C.E. (One Night Culinary Event) is next Wednesday, July 23. This one is all about the bees, with honey, bee pollen, propolis, mead, or honey comb featured in each of the ten fantastic courses we have planned. We’re partnering with the amazing Mary and Caneen Canning of Follow the Honey to source all of the beelicious bee products as well as beelightful theatrical elements. We’ve planned mead poached scallops, honey BBQ lamb ribs, honeyed pork shoulder arepas, vanilla calaminth lobster dusted with bee pollen… It is going to be amazing! Amazing Bee Facts

  • Did you know that bees have 5 eyes? They have two compound eyes on the sides of the head, and three simple eyes on top.
  • Bees have an amazing sense of smell, which they use to identify not only flowers but also their own homes.
  • The average worker bee only makes 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her short lifetime! It takes a whole lot of bees about 55,000 miles of flight and about 2 million flower-visits to make a pound of honey.
  • Bees like to stay warm. They keep the interior of the nest between 92 – 95 degrees Farenheit, whether it’s a cool spring day or the peak of a heat wave.

Taco Taco Taco!

Next week we continue our Taco Mondays. We’ve been offering four or five different amazing tacos every Monday evening this summer. We’ve got a spicy green chili chicken planned, a Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash) vegetarian special, an amazing rare seared tuna taco with kim chi, and more! We’ve got something for every appetite, and fantastic bespoke cocktails too!

  • Hedgehog Potatoes (Chef Mary’s Specialty!)
  • Triticale, Bean, and Summer Veg Pilaf

And don’t forget Taco Night on Monday! Every Monday this summer from 6 -8, or until we run out.
