Thank you so much for your interest in Cuisine en Locale’s ONCE event spaces in the historic Anthony’s Function Hall
This space, at 156 Highland Ave, in Somerville, was developed as a wedding hall 50 years ago, and has never closed. It has seen hundreds of parties and events. We were thrilled to bring our 8 year old, award winning catering company to such a venerable room, in Feb of 2014.

Basic Cost of Rooms
There are two spaces available for events and parties, at ONCE.
The Ballroom is downstairs, with chandeliers and high ceilings. It seats 120 people easily, and has a capacity of about 300, standing, including the dance floor. (Tables can be set on the dance floor to seat up to 150 people. Please ask about additional fees)
Rental is for a four hour event window, plus 2 hours of set up and clean up, to be assigned per event agreement. Overtime is billed on a halfhourly basis at $250/half hour.

Rental Price Includes
- Basic rental includes use of chairs, tables and stage.
- We set up round tables (seat 8) & chairs
- 1 staff person per 250 people required per fire code
- All glassware and bar stocking
- Assistance with event management
- We do not provide linens but we are happy to facilitate rental for about $20 a table, or to outfit you with white cloths and brown paper for $10 a table.
- Plates are included with our catering only. We can facilitate rental with Peterson’s Party Center.
A $500 refundable cleaning security deposit is required before the start of the event, to cover the cost of any breakage or damage by the client.
At this time, we do not provide any AV equipment. Please speak with us about your AV needs.
Our kitchen is licensed and can only be used under the supervision of Cuisine en Locale.
Food may be brought in directly to events, but may not be stored in the kitchen without prior arrangement. The usage fee for our kitchen is $500 and includes cold storage, ovens, stovetops and a supervising member of the Cuisine en Locale kitchen staff.
All food and other disposable items brought into Cuisine en Locale by client must be removed at the end of the event unless otherwise specified. Garbage and recycling removal may be added for $200.
When bringing in outside food/catering, CeL staffers are available for setup and cleanup can be added for $30/hour per staff member, with a 4hr minimum. The number of staff required is based on the number of guests, and we are happy to make suggestions.
Please note: If you choose to hire an outside caterer, they must have a catering license and a certificate of insurance.
We are pleased to offer an excellent bar service in both of our event rooms.
An open bar can be arranged with a 50% deposit against the final total, per event agreement.
A cash bar is available for any event, and is staffed according to the size of the event and the event needs. Cash bars are staffed at no extra charge.
All glassware and bartenders are included in our bar service, which is offered at all events for all beverages. We can offer an “open” bar format, where the total is kept privately and settled at the end of the event, or a “cash” bar, where customers pay for their drinks. A combination can also be made available. In the case of an “open” bar a deposit is required based on projected need.
Servers and Additional Staffing
Our catering service is well equipped to help you set up, serve and clean up the room. We are familiar with the space and can save you a lot of time! Servers and other support people are available for $30/hour, with a minimum booking of four hours. We can help you to plan your set up and clean up needs.
We are pleased to offer catering services for your event.
Tell us what you love and what you don’t, and we’ll craft a menu based on what’s available from our farmers. Farm-fresh, seasonal and deliciously memorable. Ask for sample menus!

- Buffet: Starts at $35 per person

Time of Events
All music and loud noise must be over by 12:30 am, building empty of guests by 1am, with one hour for clean up.
