Meringue Cookies – These sweet nibbles are a little chewy, a little crunchy, and a whole lot of yummy! They’re actually a very light guiltless treat, made only from egg white, maple, and spice-infused rum. Enjoy these with your macerated strawberries. If you’re feeling decadent, pair them with some vanilla ice cream. The best! (V, GF, 1st)
Macerated Strawberries – Fresh Stillman strawberries, macerated in maple and just a splash of vanilla-infused rum. The booze is baked out of the cookies, but not the strawberries. Enjoy! (GF, Vg, 1st)
Cucumber Yogurt Soup – This is one of our very favorite things about summer. Cool and refreshing, this chilled soup makes a perfect first course or even a palate cleanser between courses for your lovely al fresco dining experience. Juicy raw cucumbers, Greek yogurt, fresh dill, apple mint, and a splash of Doc’s hard apple-pear cider make for the perfect cooling experience. (V, GF, 1st)
Fish Makhani – Fresh, locally fished pollock is gently oven-poached in Valicenti tomatoes, Side Hill Farm yogurt, and a secret blend of Sean’s favorite spices. Enjoy with your brioche roll or a nice hunk of any bread you love. (1st, GF)
Brioche Roll – Tender, freshly baked brioche is the best sandwich roll there is! Made of Four Star Farms bread flour, butter, eggs, and milk, they are sure to delight everyone, young and old. Enjoy with your pork, makhani, or greens and some eggs for breakfast! (V, 1st)
Empanadas con Calabacitas – These adorable little savory turnovers will change your life. A filling of zucchini and yellow squash from Allandale Farm, red onion, chipotles, and a splash of Alex’s Ugly Sauce is enveloped by a tender flaky crust of Four Star pastry flour, butter, eggs, and love. Pop them in your oven to warm them up and enjoy with your strawberry salsa. Divine! (V, 1st, brr)
Spicy Strawberry Salsa – The perfect condiment for your empanadas or just about anything, this salsa combines bright red strawberries with fresh cilantro, scallions, assorted chili peppers, and a splash of Alex’s Ugly Sauce. If you can’t get enough, we’ve been serving it on fish tacos Monday nights up at the Hall. Come see us! (Vg, GF, **, 1st)
Red Hot Pickled Eggs – We just love pickled eggs! These are pretty spicy, with red pepper flakes in their brine of apple cider vinegar and beet juice. If you have never had pickled eggs before, we know they sound a little strange, but they’re a great afternoon snack or topping for a big green salad! (V, GF, **)
Kheema Paratha – An Indian-inspired dish of ground beef, lamb stock, and Indian herbs and spices; wrapped up in a simple crepe-like flatbread of pastry flour and buckwheat flour. While it is not hot-spicy, it is very richly flavorful. Yum!
Roast Pork Loin with Potatoes – We brined a lovely pork loin with smoked paprika, garlic, and a touch of honey, then roasted it up with fresh herbs. Rosemary, oregano, and sage are the perfect compliment to this juicy cut. We served it up right with potatoes, simply boiled then tossed with butter and parsley. Those simple potatoes are one of our very favorite side dishes to go with absolutely everything! (GF)
Greens and Sausages – This time of year is the best time for big piles of green leafy veggies! We sauteed kale, dandelion greens, and frisee with a little garlic and pumpkin seed oil, then brightened them up with the tiniest splash of apple cider vinegar. We then topped them all off with Toulouse sausages from our neighbors up at M.F. Dulock. These sausages are garlicky and herby, and we just love them. Eat this just as it is for lunch or dinner, or go crazy and make it all up into the best omelette! (GF)
