Profile: On the Edge Knife Sharpening’s Patti Small


Did you know that a sharp knife is much safer than a dull knife? Patti Small of On the Edge Knife Sharpening has been keeping knives sharp and happy since 2008. She sharpens every knife by hand, and does a beautiful job. She comes to Cuisine en Locale on the first Sunday of every month, 3-ish. If you would like your knives to hold sharp edges that glide right through ingredients, you can come and hang out with us (we’ll see Patti again on Sunday, September 7) or check her schedule to find her at one of her many local farmers market locations.

Pierogi Night Tomorrow!

pierogi-nightTomorrow night, we will open our doors wide to welcome Somerville Symphony Orkestar, Karikatura, and Cocek! Brass Band.

We’ll serve up three kinds of hand-made pierogi and dill pickle soup, not to mention fantastic beer, cider, and cocktails. Join us for dinner 6 – 8 and fantastic music starting around 7:30. Dinner and show are all ages, so bring everybody! Zagat selected our Pierogi Night as the thing to do tomorrow night, so come early!

ONCE Fat Moon Farm

fat-moon-farm2In just two weeks, on August 21, we will partner with Fat Moon Farm at Meadowbrook to present a fabulous ONCE (One Night Culinary Experience) on the farm out in Westford, MA. We’ll be showcasing all the best produce of the season, picked fresh for us right on the farm! This event will be welcoming to both vegetarians and omnivores.

We are very excited to announce that on September 14, we will present ONCE BBQ 007 at Aeronaut Brewing! We’ll be offering two different tickets – one for carnivores and another for those who want to come and have a great time but prefer to enjoy the fantastic array of meatless dishes we’ll be offering as well. Stay tuned for a James Bond themed menu!

  • Veggie and Cheese Flatbread Pizza

And don’t forget Taco Night on Monday! Every Monday this summer from 6 -8, or until we run out.
